Event Details
The Mutuality Cafe consists of drop-in peer mutuality circles that are facilitated by Trillium Awakening facilitators.
Peer mutuality circles provide additional opportunities to practice mutuality and explore embodied awakening. These groups are intended to supplement, rather than replace, sittings and personal sessions with Trillium Awakening teachers.
Format
The mutuality circles in the Café will be up to 2 hours long, and will follow the typical format of a mutuality circle in which there’s a brief check in time, meditation, gazing, and time for each participant to share about their own awakening process.
Mutuality Cafe group size is no more than 8, and each participant will share approximately 9 minutes. There will be two mentors (or mentors-in-training) who serve as co-facilitators.
The Mutuality Cafe is different than our “closed” mutuality circles, which consist of practitioners who meet regularly together as a kind of committed practice group. In the Mutuality Cafe, you can drop in whenever it works for you, though you will need to make a reservation so we can keep the group size to 8.
Prerequisites
1) Regular sessions or sittings (virtual or in-person) with a Trillium Awakening teacher. (See below for prerequisites for newcomers.)
2) A commitment to honor our Guidelines for Practicing Mutuality, Guidelines for Listening and Reflecting, and Mutuality Cafe Participant Agreements is also required. (Please click on these links and read these pages.)
The first prerequisite is to ensure that participants are not substituting Mutuality Cafe for doing work with a teacher. The second prerequisite is to ensure alignment with Trillium values and ensure the safety of the container.
Newcomer Prerequisites: If you are brand new to Trillium Awakening, we ask that you do the following before registering for Mutuality Cafe: 1) watch our Introductory Video Series 2) have a free session with a Trillium Awakening teacher, or attend a virtual Introduction 3) attend a few sessions or sittings with a teacher (virtual or in-person).
Registration
We ask that everyone register for only ONE Mutuality Cafe circle per week to give as many people as possible a chance to experience this program.
While there is no fee for the Mutuality Cafe, we do encourage donations to the Trillium Awakening Teachers Circle Outreach fund to support our efforts to reach more people with this work. Once registered, a link to our online video-conferencing service will be sent to you via e-mail.
There is a limit of 8 registrants for this event. 3 spots remain available.
